Prof. Dukic received a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in 2001, where she worked on computational Bayesian statistics and extensions of Gibbs sampler to hierarchical models with missing non-normally distributed data. She was then a postdoctoral fellow and visiting professor with Prof. Xiao-Li Meng, in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago from 2000-2001. She liked The University of Chicago so much that she stayed on as an Assistant Professor (2001-2008) and then Associate Professor of Biostatistics (with tenure 2008-2010). In 2010 she moved to ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder and where she is now a Professor of Applied Mathematics. She is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and has served on the board of directors of several mathematical and statistical societies and institutes, such as ISBA and ICERM. Â
Prof. Dukic's main research interests are in Bayesian modeling, sequential inference, and computational statistics. Her favorite "backyards to play in" are in the fields of ecology, environmental science, and risk modeling. She teaches statistical modeling courses at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, where she likes to hold Kaggle-style competitions instead of finals.
