Women's Rugby Join Our Team

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Women's Rugby was established in 1971 and is proud to be the nation's oldest college women’s rugby team! Since then, the team has developed from a social club to a competitive club and everything in between.Ìý
Ìý
In spring 2019, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Women's Rugby received an at-large bid to the College 7s National Championship in Tucson. They won the Shield and left Tucson with incredible memories. Following that, in fall 2021, the 15s team had a very successful season and went undefeated in league play. They fought through playoffs and earned a spot in the Elite 8 at CRAA Women’s D1 Regionals in Oklahoma.

Year after year, the players of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Women's Rugby team hope to continue making history!

High School Players:
If you are currently playing rugby in high school, we want you to come to the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ and play for us! Please contact ucbwomensrugby@gmail.com for more information.
Ìý
Those who have never played:
No experience is required to join the team; in fact most of our players had never touched a rugby ball before college. Come to our informational meeting or just show up to practice!
Ìý
When does ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ practice and play?
Check out the schedule for times, dates, and locations. If you can't make it to all of the practices and games, that's OK. Please notify the head coach if you will be missing from an event.
Ìý
What do I wear?
Wear whatever clothes you would wear to go running or to the gym. Keep in mind that by the time practice ends, it can be pretty cold. Bring plenty of warm clothes!! Also, bring soccer/rugby cleats and a mouth guard if you've got them. If not, we can help you get that equipment. Jerseys are provided for matches.
Ìý
How much does it cost?
Dues are $200 - $250 per semester. This covers registration to the national and regional rugby organizations, travel costs, and team equipment. The only additional expense you will need to cover is the cost of your own food on road trips. Hotel rooms, van rental, and gas are covered by the team. Dues are not due until a couple weeks into the season, so you can decide if rugby is the sport for you. Payment plans and other options are available, as we believe money should not be an obstacle to compete and have fun.
