Research Scientist
SWx TREC

Zach is a professional research assistant at the SWx TREC. His research focuses on using precision orbit determination and satellite drag impacts as a means of conducting density model validation and extracting neutral density estimates from satellite tracks. Zach is a member of the SWx TREC’s satellite drag research group and is interested in the work being done to better understand and address space traffic management of low-Earth orbiting assets. He received a BS in Physics (2017) and gained experience across many physics research disciplines such as nuclear, radiation dosimetry, radio astronomy, heliophysics, and space weather forecasting before getting a MS in Aerospace Engineering Sciences (2020) and joining the SWxTREC team. Outside of work, Zach enjoys spending quality time with his two cats, singing in the local community choir, listening to audiobooks, and partaking in the many outdoor activities available in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.
