AJ (Jamie) Mullennix (they/them) is a graduate student in the Religious Studies department. They graduated from UNC Asheville in 2021 with a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Religious Studies. Their undergraduate thesis consisted of ethnographic work that centered how a congregation understood and worked to subvert of white supremacy culture as it relates to Christianity.

While at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, they study the relationship between queer and trans identities, popular culture, Christianity, and (when applicable) the Southern Gothic genre. To better approach this research, Jamie is pursuing ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies graduate certificate and acts as coordinator for SOSR. In addition to their studies and SOSR, AJ is co-editor of NEXT, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder’s Religious Studies academic journal.Ìý
