Christopher Pacheco is the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement. He is a first-generation college student from a family of ten children.ÌýHe graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1982, received his B.A. from ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder in 1987 in Environmental, Population and Organismic Biology and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Educational Foundations, Policy & Practice in 2016.ÌýHis professional career has been dedicated to providing access to higher education for first-generation students and students from communities who are underrepresented in higher education.ÌýHe began his career as the director of the Pre-Collegiate Development Program at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder campus from 1987 until 1999.Ìý

He served as Associate Director for Academic Enrichment Programs in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder’s Student Academic Services Center from 1999 until 2008. As the Asst. Vice ChancellorÌýhe supervises numerous pre-college outreach programs that provide services across ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ and in a five-state region surrounding ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. ÌýIn addition, the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement conducts a Precollege Bridge Program that facilitates students' transition to and through ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder in pursuit of a postsecondary credential.
