On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at approximately 2:10 a.m. the ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department (“��ֱ��PD”) was notified that a sexual assault had occurred inside a room at Hallett Hall. The suspect is described as:

white, college-aged male
5’9” tall, medium build
short, dark, curly hair
wearing tan pants
white T-shirt

��ֱ��PD is currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact ��ֱ��PD at (303) 492-6666 and may do so anonymously here.

The 21^st-ranked ��ֱ�� Buffaloes will be taking on the UCLA Bruins on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. Because this will be a scheduled school and work day on campus, there will be parking impacts for fans planning to attend the football game.

Parking on Main Campus will be limited to drivers who either have a ��ֱ�� Boulder parking permit or those who have purchased an Athletic Department Donor parking permit. Lot 204 (just south of Euclid Autopark) will remain open on Main Campus for drivers with ADA placards. The placard must be displayed at all times and the parking fee is $10. An ADA shuttle will transport those fans to Folsom Field. As a reminder, Euclid Autopark is closed through Jan. 13 due to construction.

Fans who do not have either of the parking permits will be required to park at Research Park or find alternate transportation options. The fee for parking at Research Park off Discovery Drive will be $10. Parking is limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Discovery Drive should be accessed from Foothills Parkway and ��ֱ�� Avenue. It is about a 15-minute walk from those lots to Folsom Field; shuttles will be running as well.

RTD operates the BuffRide from various locations around the Denver metro and Boulder County areas, as well as the HOP, JUMP, SKIP, BOUND, 209/209G, 225, Flatiron Flyer 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 with stops on the west and east sides of campus. With almost 80 RTD Park-N-Rides throughout the metro area, there’s sure to be one near you. (Parking is free in many Park-N-Ride locations.) The University of ��ֱ�� Boulder is looking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Zhengyin Yang. Yang was last seen in the early morning hours of Oct. 6, 2016. He was reported missing to ��ֱ��PD on Oct. 7, 2016. Yang is an international student from China and is described as:

Male
5’6”, 108 pounds
Black hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a gray Kuhl brand wool coat and blue jeans

Yang speaks Mandarin and English. Anyone who sees Yang or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department at 303-492-6666.

Yang was located early on Oct. 8 and is safe.

The University of ��ֱ�� Boulder and the City of Boulder police departments today released the names of the officers involved in the Oct. 5 fatal shooting of a man wielding a machete on the ��ֱ�� Boulder campus. The ��ֱ��PD officer is Clay Austin. He has been an officer with ��ֱ��PD for almost four years. The BPD officer’s name is Jason Connor. He is a three-year veteran of the department. Both officers are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, which is consistent with department policies.

��ֱ�� Boulder police received a 911 call at 9:13 a.m. and Officer Austin immediately responded to the scene. In total, 14 ��ֱ��PD officers responded during the duration of the call. Boulder police became aware of the incident at 9:16 a.m., after multiple 911 calls came into the Boulder Police Department Communication Center. Nine Boulder police officers immediately responded to assist the ��ֱ�� Police Department. When officers encountered the armed suspect, he did not comply with verbal commands and then advanced on officers. It has been confirmed that both Officer Austin and Officer Connor discharged their firearms.

The Boulder County Investigation Team is the lead investigation team for this incident. This team is made up of investigators from various law enforcement agencies throughout Boulder County. Both the University of ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department and the Boulder Police Department participate in this system of investigation to ensure objectivity in cases where officers use lethal force.

Investigators believe there are likely still witnesses who they have not talked with and are asking individuals who were in the area when the incident occurred to call Sgt. Brian Lindsey with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office at 303-441-4917.

On Sept. 25, 2016, at approximately 1 a.m., the ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department (“��ֱ��PD”) was notified of an attempted sexual assault. A police officer was flagged down and notified that the crime occurred a few minutes earlier in the area near the intersection of 17th Street and University Avenue, just north of Macky Auditorium.

The victim reported that she had been walking along University Avenue when she noticed the suspect walking behind her. The suspect put his arm around the victim. After the victim rejected the suspect, the suspect grabbed the victim’s shirt and pulled the victim to the ground. After the victim fought the suspect off, he ran south toward Macky.

The suspect is described as:

College-age black male
approximately 6’1” to 6’2” tall
with an average build
a small and shaggy beard and a mustache
wearing a ��ֱ�� sweatshirt and long pants

The University of ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department is looking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest in this past weekend’s unlawful sexual contact incident.

The crime occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2016, in the area of the pedestrian underpass at Broadway and College Avenue. The victim reported that she was walking through the underpass when the suspect grabbed her in the buttock and thigh area. After the victim fought the suspect off, the suspect left westbound through the underpass.

The person of interest in this case is also suspected to be the person who was involved in a similar crime on campus on Jan. 14, 2016. He has been described as:

White male
30-40 years old
Balding
A reddish beard
With three triangles tattooed on the outside of his left forearm

On Sept. 4, 2016, at approximately 3 p.m., the ��ֱ�� Boulder Police Department ("��ֱ��PD") was notified of an unlawful sexual contact.

On Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, the University of ��ֱ�� Boulder’s Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) discovered that its storage trailer had been stolen out of an East Campus parking lot in the area of 3100 Marine St. The trailer was placed in the lot and secured on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016.

The trailer description is:

License Plate is a ��ֱ�� Government plate with number W43193T

The value of the trailer is estimated to be $1,500. Inside the trailer, the ROTC stored 70 sleep systems, a military-grade sleeping bag. Each sleep system is worth approximately $500. Pictures of the sleep systems and a similar-looking trailer are attached.

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the University of ��ֱ�� Boulder Student Government, the ��ֱ�� Boulder Cultural Events Board and the Tibetan Association of ��ֱ�� will welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Coors Events Center. There will be two teaching sessions at 9:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. Because of this visit, traffic and parking on the University of ��ֱ�� Boulder campus will be heavily impacted.

Access to Regent Drive between Broadway and ��ֱ�� will be limited to those people who have either a prepaid Dalai Lama parking permit or a valid ��ֱ�� Parking Permit. Even with a valid parking permit, no one will be allowed to stop on Regent Drive to drop off or pick up riders.

If you are coming to campus via taxi, Uber, or Lyft, we highly recommend finding a safe spot to be dropped off on the west side of Campus.

If you are coming to the event and do not have a prepaid Dalai Lama parking permit or a valid ��ֱ�� Parking Permit, we highly recommend that you use RTD’s bus service, ride a bike or walk to get to campus. The roads in and around the ��ֱ�� Boulder campus will also see short, temporary closures as His Holiness is transported to and from the Coors Event Center.

The University of ��ֱ�� Boulder’s 2016 Spring Commencement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Field.

Traffic Impacts

Increased traffic is expected on the major arteries that lead to and from Boulder beginning early on Saturday morning and continuing into Saturday afternoon. Increased traffic is also expected on campus roadways and parking lots surrounding Folsom Stadium.

On Thursday, Plenary Roads Denver (PRD) announced that tolls on US 36 Express Lanes will be waived for University of ��ֱ��’s graduation. This one-time free toll day will be effective on Saturday from 6-9:30 a.m. in westbound lanes from Federal Boulevard through Foothills Parkway toll points and from 3-6:30 p.m. in eastbound lanes from Foothills Parkway through Federal Boulevard toll points.

A construction zone has been established near Foothills Parkway at the end of the westbound US 36 Express Lanes and just before the beginning of the eastbound US 36 Express Lanes. This construction zone may cause backups. Additional travel time is recommended to drivers who are coming to Boulder on Highway 36.

Parking Availability

We recommend guests arrive early before the ceremony to allow adequate time to get to campus as well as from the parking areas to the stadium. The majority of parking will be available off Regent Drive. Parking attendants will direct you to available lots in the area; parking meters, pay stations, and several of the parking lots on campus are free the day of commencement (except Euclid Auto Park). Please consult the parking map to find those free lots and spaces.

Guests who need ADA-accessible parking may park in lots south of the stadium; parking attendants on-site will direct you to the available lots in the area. A disability parking placard is required to park in this area, please have your placard displayed when arriving on campus. A drop-off area for those who have difficulty walking will be at the intersection of ��ֱ�� Avenue and Folsom Street, southeast of the stadium. It is best to access the drop-off area well before the student procession reaches the stadium at approximately 8:15 a.m.

Complimentary shuttle bus service will be available from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (in 15-minute intervals) to provide transportation to and from the public parking areas and the stadium.
