This role was recently reintroduced to the PLC student staff to educate the PLC community about the coming federal presidential election, as well as local and state ballot measures. This role exists to better educate the first-year PLC class and the greater PLC student community about affairs in national and state politics and/or how to get involved as a civically engaged leader. This role is highly knowledgeable about politics and policy issues and is fluent in dialogue across ideological differences. This person will expand the role to conduct town halls for PLC and other Center for Leadership students and organizations. Additional civic engagement education should be pursued without micromanagement or prompts from the faculty supervisor. This person needs to be very adept at communication in written and verbal formats and preferably is extroverted in the position. The role can grow considerably and will be integral to keeping PLC students civically engaged in election and non-election years. Pay rate = $3000/academic year
