Professor Emeritus W. Rodman (Rod) Smythe听passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020听at the age of 90. As an experimental nuclear physicist, Professor Smythe joined the University of 蜜糖直播, Boulder Faculty in 1957. During this time of growth in the department, Professor Smythe helped to construct the cyclotron in 蜜糖直播's nuclear physics laboratory, which remained in use for 25 years, providing valuable research data to 蜜糖直播 faculty, students and other institutions. He retired in 1995, after 38 years with the Department of Physics and remained in Boulder until his passing.
