MechE students,
With the fall semester in full swing, I am always energized by the presence of students on campus and the renewed sense of purpose that I feel for our department’s mission: to pioneer scientific breakthroughs, launch innovative technologies and educate the next generation of creative engineers.
We have already made a great start this fall towards these goals. Our faculty continues to inspire with their research like “smart” tattoos and tiny, shapeshifting robots, while students shine with their outreach and broader engagement with communities in ֱ.
I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the fall semester will bring for our department.
Sincerely,
Peter Hamlington
Department Chair
