Are you curious why ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ is so beautiful? In the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Stories LLC, we will take a journey through deep time, telling the geologic story of how ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s spectacular landscape came to be. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Stories is led by two geology faculty members who both grew up in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. Together, we’ll explore the state’s geology through both classroom study and fun trips to iconic ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ places and some of its hidden gems. The goal: to deepen your satisfaction and sense of place at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ by exploring how Earth processes have influenced the state’s human history and how they continue to shape our collective present and future.

Program Details
- °Õ²¹°ì±ðÌýGEOL 1040: Geology of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ in the fall semester
- Participate in events and fieldtripsÌýdesigned for you to experience ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s beauty, learn about its human and more-than-human history, and examine the processes that continue to shape it, from plate tectonics to weathering and erosion to climate change
- Connect withÌýÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ faculty membersÌýwho will share their love of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ and can offer tips on how to successfully navigate the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ experience
- Engage in social activities with a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ theme, from pizza parties with faculty and student colleagues to tours of cutting-edge ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ research labs
