Yiddish Studies is an integral part of the Program in Jewish Studies at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. The Boulder community has long supported Yiddish-language activities under the leadership of a community-based group known as the Boulder Vinkl, which supported reading groups, meetings, and other educational activities related to Yiddish. ÌýWhen the Program in Jewish Studies made Yiddish Studies a cornerstone of its educational programs in 2009, the Vinkl realized it had an opportunity to raise the profile of Yiddish in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ more broadly and used its funds to create the Yiddish Fund at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, which supports educational activities and courses related to Yiddish. ÌýThe Yiddish Fund has supported visiting lecturers and a course The History of Yiddish Culture (JWST/HIST 4544).
