Lecturers and instructors听are typically hired on a semester-to-semester basis as temporary faculty.
Pay range is听$5,000 to $10,400 as applicable, per course.
The Institute of Cognitive Science occasionally hires Lecturers or Instructors to teach a听Cognitive Science听courses offered by the Institute.
Lecturer is the title given to individuals hired to teach on a course-by-course basis. Lecturers are qualified to teach the particular course or courses for which they have been hired. They may have graduate degrees and/or advanced experience in their profession or field of expertise. Lecturers are employees-at-will.
Instructors usually have their master鈥檚 degree or its equivalent and should be otherwise well-qualified to teach at the undergraduate (primarily lower division) level. Instructors are not tenure-eligible and their service as Instructor does not count toward the award of tenure. Instructors are usually employees at will.
