Tom Zeiler is Professor of History and Director of the Program in International Affairs, and former Chair of the Department of History, at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. He writes on World War II, international economy and globalization, baseball history, and sports and diplomacy, and has published several books, most recently Capitalist Peace: A History of American Free Trade Internationalism. He has taught the big IAFS 1000 introductory course, as well as senior seminars on recent diplomatic history. As well, he leads a Global Seminar study abroad program to Bordeaux, France, every June, for IAFS majors and minors. Tom has also launched massive open online course on Coursera based in part on his publications and his course, America Through Baseball. He has held Fulbright Scholar awards to Buenos Aires, Tokyo, and Paris. He served as the President of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) and as editor of Diplomatic History, the journal of record in the field of U.S. foreign relations. Tom also served on the Historical Advisory Committee on Documentation in the Department of State in Washington, D.C. for ten years.Â
