Departments

The following departments are a part of Health and Wellness Services on campus. 

FSAP provides free mental health services for all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty, including brief individual or couples counseling, community referrals, workshops and support groups.

Health Promotion provides outreach, education, events and online programs related to multiple dimensions of wellness on campus, including stress management, self-care, substance use, mental health and more.

The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder campus has two recreation centers on the main campus and in Williams Village. Recreation Services provides a wide variety of recreation and wellness opportunities, including memberships, lockers, classes, personal training, outdoor trips and more.

The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC provides support and connection for students, faculty and staff in recovery or seeking recovery from a wide range of behaviors. They offer weekly meetings, peer-to-peer support, substance-free events and community referrals.

Mental health resources

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty can access mental health support and resources on campus and virtually through a variety of employee benefits and programs.


 

Free support services

The following mental health services are available to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty for free.
 

  The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provides free mental health services for all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty, including brief individual or couples counseling, community referrals, workshops and support groups.

  AcademicLiveCare (ALC) is a free telehealth platform that allows students, staff and faculty to schedule and attend mental health, psychiatry and medical appointments from home, the office or on the go.

  OVA provides free and confidential information, consultation, support, advocacy and short-term, trauma-focused counseling services for students, staff and faculty. They are familiar with a wide range of topics, including sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, microaggressions, identity-based trauma, abuse, intimate partner abuse, stalking, crime, assault and more.

  Staff and faculty can attend a free weekly Acudetox session that uses ear acupressure and acupuncture for trauma, substance use, abuse, dependence and related behaviors or mental health conditions. This session is overseen by a certified acupuncturist who is trained in the nationally recognized National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol.

  The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Collegiate Recovery Community (ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC) provides support and connection for students, faculty and staff in recovery or seeking recovery from a wide range of behaviors. They offer weekly meetings, peer-to-peer support, substance-free events and community referrals.

  Wellness Wednesday workshops are available for staff and faculty to engage in self-care activities, learn about campus resources and build community. Themes rotate regularly, allowing participants to come and go as they please.

Free resources and trainings

The following resources and training opportunities are available to support education and outreach efforts among staff and faculty.
 

  Whether you or someone you know is having a hard time, it’s important to reach out or ask for help. Learn about the warning signs, how to start the conversation and where to go for support.

  Staff and faculty can access a number of free training opportunities to learn more about college mental health, campus resources and strategies for supporting students and colleagues.

  Kognito is a virtual program that allows students, staff and faculty to practice role-playing in different scenarios. Kognito helps users build knowledge and skills around mental health and suicide prevention. It’s also designed to support academic performance, student retention, and campus safety.

 

Physical health and medical resources

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty can access mental health support and resources on campus and virtually through a variety of employee benefits and programs.

Support services

The following services are available to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty to support your medical and physical health.
 

  The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provides free workshops and support groups related to physical health and well-being.

  AcademicLiveCare (ALC) is a free telehealth platform that allows students, staff and faculty to schedule and attend mental health and medical appointments from home, the office or on the go.

  Medical Services has a team of certified massage therapists available to treat stress, sports recovery, circulation and muscle spasms. Massage appointments at Wardenburg Health Center are available to staff and faculty for $60 per 45-minute session (insurance not accepted).

  Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that uses small, thin needles to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms. Staff and faculty can participate in private acupuncture sessions or join a community ear seeding session. Group acupuncture is a great option to learn more about acupuncture and give it a try.

  Did you know you can fill prescriptions and pick up over-the-counter products right here on campus? The Apothecary Pharmacy in Wardenburg Health Center accepts most major health insurance plans, including all of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ employee health plans.

  Health Promotion provides free quit kits, nicotine cessation coaching and tips for staff and faculty to overcome nicotine cravings. Call 303-492-2937 to schedule an appointment. Nicotine patches and gum are also available for sale at the Apothecary Pharmacy.

  ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ employees, retirees and their spouses/dependents are eligible for a membership to the Rec Center. Staff and faculty can also get a $25 one-month trial membership that provides access to both campus facilities, locker rooms and free group fitness classes.

  Staff and faculty who are enrolled in a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ employee insurance plan are eligible to earn $25 per month for logging at least 12 days of physical activity through the free Be ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Move app.

 

Additional wellness resources

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder staff and faculty can access additional wellness materials and programs through the following offerings.

Health Promotion provides free toolkits and plug-and-play activities to campus organizations and departments. These toolkits provide a great way to educate and engage your team in wellness activities around self-care, gratitude, stress management and more.

The Challenge Course Experience provides a fun and safe environment for groups to work together, learn about one another and reach group and individual goals.

The Norlin Library has released a new Wellbeing and Sexual Health collection that covers a variety of topics, including burnout, sexuality, relationships, mental health, self-help and more. Materials are available for checkout in person at Norlin Library or online through Overdrive.

Human Resources (HR) supports employees throughout their career at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. HR provides employees with guidance, trainings, resources and services. Be sure to explore the many opportunities available through HR.

The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ State Employee Assistance Program (CSEAP) is a free resource to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder employees. CSEAP offers life and wellbeing benefits, including in-person and video counseling, coaching, consultation and organizational services.
