Waleed Abdalati has been named the new director of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, or ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, a joint institute of the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Abdalati is a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Fellow, a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder professor of geography and director of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Earth Science and Observation Center. He will take office on July 1.
