Justin Saxby
Assistant Teaching Professor

The holder of a PhD in Theology and Literature from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate of Barnett Bicycle Institute, Justin Saxby works with books and bicycles as a way of acknowledging and responding to social, economic, and environmental suffering in the world. His service as an educator is guided by his training at the intersection of C19 American literature, world contemplative traditions, and literary theory. His service as a mechanic is shaped by years of experience in the bike industry, most recently at Community Cycles, a local non-profit which advocates for the bicycle as an environmentally sustainable and socially equitable means of transportation. Justin adores the fiery prophecy of the New England Transcendentalists as much as he loves the faithful practicality of his Bridgestone MB-3, and he's as happy rambling on about Ralph Waldo Emerson’s sermons in class as he is rambling about on the back roads of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.
