Student Societies

Nine affinity-based, professional engineering and STEM societies have their ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder chapter offices in the BOLD Center. These societies provide a variety of functions and programming, including:

  • Hosting guest speakers
  • Organizing social events
  • Sponsoring student attendance at national conferences 
  • Sponsoring entries in national competitions 
  • Making a world of difference as an engineer before you graduate!

Membership in professional societies is open to anyone who supports the organization’s mission. Please contact individual societies for membership information.

AAEIO addresses the need of engineers of Indian origin living in North America to collaborate on technology and innovation.

AISES' mission is to be a catalyst for the advancement of American Indians and Native Alaskans as they seek to become self-reliant and self-determined members of society by bridging science and technology with traditional Native values.

NSBE's mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

oSTEM strives to provide networking opportunities, professional development, social proceedings, and safe space for the LGBTQ community belonging to science, technology, engineering, and math fields on campus.

SASE is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential.

SHPE's mission is to develop a diverse community of supportive ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder students that excel as STEM leaders, contributing community members, and well rounded professionals.

SWE is focused on building an inclusive community of strong female engineers and other minorities, while remaining open to all who support these groups in STEM.

WiC is dedicated to supporting women and diversity in computing. We encourage interaction from all who are interested in issues regarding women and diversity in computing to share information about career, academic, and social opportunities.

WOAA creates a community for women interested in space exploration. We will produce a safe and welcoming environment aimed toward inclusivity and empowerment, making space more accessible to everyone.
