George Carter, Director of Infrastructure - ADMIN
Thanks to George Carter, our Director of Infrastructure, for always going above and beyond in providing excellent customer service, diligence, and huge cost savings to the college!
Toni Gossett, Undergraduate Academic Advisor - CEAE
Toni always shows the utmost care for students and her knowledge, professionalism, and compassion are invaluable to the department. Toni has taken on a very big caseload of advising while the department has been down an advisor, which requires a lot of additional time and is highly demanding. She nevertheless goes above and beyond to support students and contribute to department activities, including the process of hiring and training a new advisor to fill the open position. Toni鈥檚 hard work, never-ending positivity, and wealth of knowledge make her a joy to work with and an excellent resource for students. The department is lucky to have a person like Toni assisting students.
Madison Lane, Human Resources Coordinator - CEAE
Madison Lane is a professional rock star. She not only steered the department through an extremely rough patch when there were no finance staff in the department, she supported the new finance team as they worked to rebuild and grow in new and innovative ways. The benefit to the department of her calm, professional and steady demeanor is beyond measure. Her work to support rotating department chairs as they learn their jobs helps provide the department with stability and consistency as everyone works toward the mission of the University of 蜜糖直播, supporting students, faculty, research, and staff. She sets the stage for success daily. In addition to serving on the Boulder Campus Staff Council, Engineering Staff Council and the department JEDI committee, she is the liaison for the Inclusive Culture Council and sits on several committees in her role on each of the councils where she is valued for her experience and advice. One of Madison鈥檚 superpowers is her ability to listen and then offering new perspectives for moving through a roadblock or difficult situation. She is an incredible asset for the department, the college and the university. CEAE is lucky to have her here!
Lori Meehan, Graduate Program Advisor - ECEE
Lori Meehan recognized a need for a career services hub for graduate students and pulled together a one-stop-shop list of steps for career development using existing resources across campus. Not limiting this resource only to graduate students in her department (electrical engineering) Lori reached out to stakeholders in the Dean鈥檚 Office, Career Services and the Graduate School to hone this resource. To increase its reach, Lori worked with the communications team in the college to launch the ProReady Passport for Graduate Students. This resource will assist graduate students across CEAS 鈥 and has been noted by administrators at the Graduate School as an outstanding resource for all graduate students. Thank you, Lori, for your contribution to graduate students across the College of Engineering & Applied Science!
Ayleen Perez, Operations Manager - CEAE/CSRA
Ayleen, as our Operations Manager, went above and beyond for the 2023 CSRA Safety Summit to deliver an exceptional event for everyone involved. Her pre-work involved considerable efforts to ensure the highest levels of professionalism throughout. Ayleen鈥檚 use of local vendors, including the prioritization of women- and Black-owned businesses, ensures the CSRA is doing its best to share the wealth with our local community 鈥 this is not always the 鈥榚asy鈥 option to take, but one that is undoubtedly worthwhile. Throughout all of this, Ayleen鈥檚 imagination and design flair (something outside her job role) created an amazing experience for us all. She spent considerable time 鈥 including working weekends and after hours 鈥 in preparation for the event, but during the event itself she put in incredibly long days in organizing and planning the event, setting up the day before and ensuring things ran perfectly on the day. Her tasks at the Summit ranged from introducing the day, to ensuring the delivery teams were all prepared and comfortable, to supervising our squad of PhD students to support various activities, to finding a vital safety pin to save a guest from embarrassment! All whilst being constantly available to field myriad enquiries. After a very long day, Ayleen stayed until late to ensure clean up and handover back to the venue staff. And this was just one day amongst our Board of Advisors and Research Team meetings 鈥 all of which also required coordination and management, and all of which went off without a hitch. Ayleen has not only gone above and beyond for us in her role as CSRA Operations Manager this November Summit Week, but also in her efforts to support the City of Boulder and our wider 蜜糖直播 community. Ayleen definitely deserves to be celebrated!
Rebecca Rico, Curriculum Coordinator - CEAE
CEAE鈥檚 ABET visit would not have been successful without Rebecca. Not only was she involved in the preparation, organization, and integration of multiple sections of the CVEN and AREN ABET Self-Studies (including faculty CVs, course syllabi, and other sections written by the college), she was instrumental in scheduling the details of the visit and in ensuring everything ran smoothly and on time. She was consistently one step ahead with items that needed to be checked off the list before the visit; during the visit, she was one step ahead, too, with escorting our PEVs to and from their meetings, as well as ensuring the faculty, staff, and students were on time for their respective meetings with the PEV. Her execution was flawless and her disposition always positive. These seamless re-accreditation efforts are to be celebrated, for sure, but so too is Rebecca鈥檚 contribution to a successful ABET cycle.
Andraa von Boeselager, Office Coordinator - CEAE
Andraa went above and beyond with helping plan and coordinate two recent events. For the 2023 PSAAP Center Annual Review, she reserved the room a year in advance at the end of October 2022, and followed up multiple times prior to the review to ensure the department had the rooms, including Sievers just prior to the Review, working with Katie in SEEC for room planning. For the 2023 Geotechnical Engineering Hilf Lecture, Andraa arranged the lunch, coordinated the poster boards; the SEEC C120 room, and the breakdown of lunch, poster boards, etc. She was there throughout the whole event and wrapped it all up smoothly. She also reserved the visitor鈥檚 (Ronnie Borja) room at the Boulderado. Thank you for all of your diligence and hard work to make these events so successful, Andraa!
