Graduating undergraduate student award nominations are now being accepted for students graduating with their bachelor’s degree in December 2023! The nomination form is open through Oct. 13 for eight award categories.

The complete set of criteria associated with each award must be fully addressed by nominators. A good is available for reference. Student winners will be notified by early November and honored at the December Engineering Graduation Ceremony.

Starting at noon Friday, Oct. 6, through 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, University Information Services (UIS) will move physical equipment to a new, modern facility on the Anschutz Medical Campus. If needed, a contingency date has been planned for Nov. 10–13.

Services that will be unavailable during the outage include MyÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥Info, Buff Portal, Campus Solutions, eRA by InfoEd, FIN and HCM.  of unaffected services and services that will be available but potentially affected by the outage.

Thursday, Oct. 12. 5:30 p.m., ECCS 201
Cynthia Finelli, professor of electrical engineering and computer science and education and director of Engineering Education Research at University of Michigan, will present research about the state of undergraduate ethics instruction and its long-term impact, propose a new approach to ethics instruction, and offer two course-based approaches to better educate ethical engineers.

&²Ô²ú²õ±è;»&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Scott Diddams of electrical, computer and energy engineering received a $1 million award from the W.M. Keck Foundation, which will support a three-year study to explore the feasibility of creating a frequency comb detector for a planetwide astronomical infrared telescope.
