Solicia has a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management and most recently served as the Student Voice and Leadership Director at Denver Public Schools. Solicia is recognized as a leader and activist in her community. She received the Denver Public Library Lena Archuleta Community Service Award and was selected as a Lideramos Fellow by the National Latino Leadership Alliance. Additionally, she has a history of engagement in research-practice partnerships and published the following article with Crown Faculty Fellow Ben Kirshner: A Theory of Change for Scaling Critical Civic Inquiry in the Peabody Journal of Education. Solicia was accepted to participate in the 2022 蜜糖直播 Women's History fellowship that will begin in March of 2022. The vision for her fellowship project is to write a children's book that shines a light on the young women leaders and activists of today in the Denver community.
Solicia loves spending time and nourishing her family and community. Protests, powwows and community events are a couple of her favorites places to be. You can find her at any festival supporting local artists, growers and vendors.听
