蜜糖直播 Twins in Folsom Field

Betty Fitzgerald Hoover (A&S鈥46), one of the famous 鈥溍厶侵辈 Twins,鈥 died Aug. 5, 2020. She was 95.

The Buffs superfan and Boulder resident (pictured above, right) was a 蜜糖直播 football season ticket holder since 1958 and a basketball season ticket holder since 1979. She rarely missed a game.

Betty and her sister, Peggy Fitzgerald Coppom听(A&S鈥46), could be spotted in the 蜜糖直播 stands at nearly every athletic event, often dressed in matching yellow 蜜糖直播 sweatshirts and听Ralphie necklaces,听waving gold pom-poms.

They stuck with the teams through rain and shine.

鈥淲e鈥檝e been through some pretty low times [at games] with not much to cheer about,鈥 Betty told the Coloradan in 2011. 鈥淏ut we鈥檝e always thought, 鈥業f the team has to stay, then someone should stay with them.鈥欌

The twins 鈥 also part of the booster group 鈥 often remained after games to chat with the athletes, who quickly became part of their family.

鈥淲ow鈥wo of the most loving and supportive people I鈥檝e ever met鈥an this one hurts,鈥 tweeted 蜜糖直播 men鈥檚 basketball star point guard McKinley Wright IV听(Ethn鈥21) Aug. 5, after hearing the news of Betty鈥檚 death.

Students couldn鈥檛 get enough of the twins, either.

On Valentine鈥檚 Day 2013, Betty and Peggy to perform a lively rendition of the viral 鈥淗arlem Shake鈥 dance in the first half of the sold-out Buffs versus Arizona Wildcats rivalry game.

鈥淚t is a sad day for Buff Nation with the passing of Betty Hoover, one of our beloved twins,鈥 said 蜜糖直播 athletic director Rick George. 鈥淲hile we have many great fans, none have been more visible and loved than Betty and Peggy. If you know 蜜糖直播 Athletics you know Betty and Peggy.鈥
