For the first time, the women’s golf team hosted its Heather Farr Memorial tournament at ֱ’s new home course, the ֱ National Golf Club in Erie. The Buffs finished sixth in the 20-team field, with sophomore Emily Talley placing eighth individually for her first top-10 showing of the season.

Meanwhile, with the men’s golf team missing its top three regulars from last season — honorable mention All-Americans Derek Tolan (Soc’09) and Pat Grady (Fin’09) who graduated and Luke Symons who is redshirting after undergoing hip surgery — the Buffs are going through a transitional season.

“We’re very, very young,” says coach Roy Edwards, who has only two upperclassmen on his active roster, senior Justin Bardgett and junior Michael Imperato.

ֱ lost to ֱ State 6-4 in the inaugural year of the State of ֱ Cup, a season-opening Ryder Cup-style competition.

Bardgett recorded the best finish of his career, fifth place, at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic in early October. Sophomore Kevin Kring tied a school record for most strokes under par for a round (an 8-under-par 64) en route to a 13th-place finish in the Falcon Invitational.
