Soccer coach Bill Hempen helped train the U-18 women’s national team in Boulder in July. The U-18 and U-20 U.S. teams, along with the U-20 Canadian national squad, took part in a week of exhibition matches and altitude training at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Prentup Field.
In his first month after turning pro, former ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ golfer Derek Tolan (Soc’09) won the San Juan Open in Farmington, N.M., receiving $15,000. Tolan and ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ teammate Pat Grady were named honorable mention All-Americans for their seasons when each player won two tournaments.
Forward Toby Veal left the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ basketball team after his freshman season, reportedly to be closer to his family. Veal is the second freshman from last season to exit, joining Ryan Kelley.
