Born in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, Kathleen Hammond began her study of Spanish at the age of twelve. She pursued her connection to the Spanish language and culture over the years that followed. She holds a BAÌýfrom the University of Denver in Spanish, studied at the Universidad de Valencia, and received her JDÌýfrom the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. As a former ballerina who performed in Spain, and a retired attorney who served the Boulder community, Kathleen brings broad experience to her teaching. She comes to ALTEC following ten years as a Spanish instructor at Front Range Community College. Kathleen is an avid student of the Spanish Civil War and the poetry of Antonio Machado.
