CEDaR鈥檚听Community Engagement through CoCoMHO, with funding from听The听蜜糖直播 Health Foundation and other听sources,听seeks to support听state and local policy听development听and听community-based innovation to strengthen manufactured housing communities听as a听vital听source of affordable housing in 蜜糖直播.听The work of the Manufactured Housing Initiative听occurs through class projects, internships and research involving 蜜糖直播听Boulder听faculty, student and community teams.听听Projects听of the initiative include听support for the development of the听蜜糖直播 Coalition of Manufactured Home Owners听(CoCoMHO); development of a听providing critical information for residents of听manufactured听housing communities;听social and demographic research on the character of manufactured housing communities in 蜜糖直播;听and Community Voices.听
CEDaR鈥檚听work with the 蜜糖直播 Coalition of Manufactured Home Owners (CoCoMHO)听is helping renters and owners of manufactured housing in 蜜糖直播 play an active role in policy discussions regarding protections of 蜜糖直播鈥檚 900-plus mobile home parks.听Manufactured home parks are the largest source of unsubsidized affordable housing in the U.S. and are home to a large percentage of low-income Latino families, fixed income seniors and single parents. Evictions, unexpected rent increases, poor physical conditions and inadequate services threaten the mental and physical health of residents, and contribute to ongoing housing insecurity.听听
