Profile

Sumiko Gibson moved to ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ after teaching Japanese in Hong Kong for 8 years. She earned M.A. in Japanese Language and Culture from the Osaka University in 2008. Sumiko is a University of Northern ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ alumnus, obtaining a B.A. in Social Science in 1998.

Sumiko joined the Department of the Modern Languages in 2013 after teaching Japanese at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder (2011 to 2012) and the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Springs (2012). Her research interests include Second Language Acquisition, Motivation, and Japanese as a Foreign Language Pedagogy.

Sumiko enjoys hiking and camping whenever she has time.
