After 5 years as Associate Director of CAS and Instructor in Asian Studies, Colleen Berry is retiring! We cannot stress enough what an impact Colleen has had on Asian Studies at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. Under Colleen’s guidance, the Asian Studies program has not only grown in student numbers, but has also been enriched by her course offerings, and by her passion as a teacher. Her Introduction to Modern Asia (ASIA 2000) course has quickly become a student favorite. The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Journal of Asian Studies, which Colleen edited, has also become a well-respected research publication for undergraduate students not only at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ but among the broader Front Range Asian Studies community. CAS has benefitted immeasurably from Colleen’s enthusiasm and her natural abilities as a community-builder. Her students have benefitted from the care she brought to the classroom and the rich experiences she brought to the study-abroad trips she led in China. Luckily, Colleen plans to continue leading student trips to China during the summers - once international travel returns to normal! We wish her luck and success in all her new endeavors. She will be missed by all!
