Mara Vahratian joined the Arts and Sciences First-Year Advising Center in 2012. ÌýShe is originally from southeastern Michigan. ÌýIn 2005, she graduated from the University of Michigan (go blue!) with a BA in English/Creative Writing. ÌýShe completed a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona in 2007. ÌýAfter graduate school and a brief stint as a barista, Mara worked in the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center at the University of Arizona from 2007 to 2012, working with students interested in health professional careers. ÌýShe is excited to support first-year students at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.
In her spare time, Mara likes to hike, run, read, write, cook, listen to music, travel, and spend time with friends and loved ones. ÌýShe is the author of a poetry chapbook, Soaptrees, and is working to convince herself that yes, this is finally the year to buckle down and complete her full-length manuscript.
