Guide for ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Community College Students
Guaranteed Transfer Courses
To help you avoid taking unnecessary courses and quickly earn your degree, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ has developed a general education curriculum (gtPathways) that forms the core of all AA and AS degrees offered by public two-year community colleges in the state and the core of most bachelor's degrees offered by public four-year colleges and universities in the state. All gtPathways courses are guaranteed to transfer between two-year and four-year public colleges and universities in the state, including ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, and count toward general education requirements at the receiving institution.
You can find more information about the gtPathways curriculum and courses on the webpage on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Department of Higher Education’s site.
Guided Pathways
ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ also has developed Statewide Transfer Articulation Agreements (Degrees with Designation) that allow you to graduate from a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ community college with a 60-credit associate degree with designation, such as an Associate of Arts in English or an Associate of Sciences in Geology; enroll with junior status at a four-year university; and complete the bachelor's degree in that major in no more than an additional 60 credits (for a total of 120 credits).
You can find more information about the Statewide Transfer Articulation Agreements (STAAs) on the webpage on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Department of Higher Education’s site.
Building on or in addition to these STAAs, the College of Arts and Sciences has created ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder specific transfer guides (four-year courses maps) for all the Bachelor of Arts degrees offered in the college. (At ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder all departments offer Bachelor of Arts degrees even those with majors in the Natural Sciences.)
You can find these four-year course maps, which provide a pathway to graduation from ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder with a bachelor’s degree within four years, on the Transfer Guide webpage.
