Models in Applied Mathematics
I’ll discuss three different but not necessarily mutually exclusive, types of models: Deterministic models (for want of a better term), neural networks and in particular deep neural networks, and probabilistic models in particular probabilistic graphical models. I’ll explore the differences between the three approaches to modeling through concrete examples.
