Brennan Coffey is a junior studying applied math and chemical engineering, and currently works in  on polymer diffusion at a solid-liquid interface. He has also worked for three summers at Caltech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory on various aspects of OCO, which is a satellite designed to measure the carbon dioxide in the atmoshpere. In both of those projects, he been tasked with computationally studying diffusion (ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥) or spectroscopy, astrodynamics and data validation (JPL). "As a result all of my work requires a strong mathematical foundation," says Coffey. "This is where I enjoy applying the theory and methods that I have learned in my applied math courses."Â
Please join Applied Math in congratulating Brennan on this accomplishment!
