Keawe Liu

Over the course of his 25-year career in education and advancement, Keawe Liu (BA Anthropology ‘93) has worked for several non-profits as a teacher, coach, and executive. As Assistant Headmaster for External Relations at his alma mater, Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Keawe created a first-ever, full-need endowed scholarship fund that earned him recognition in 2011 as Pacific Business News’ Community Leader of the Year. As Executive Director of the Pauahi Foundation (the Foundation of Kamehameha Schools), Keawe established new giving vehicles and engaging programs that led to the doubling and tripling of giving participation for alumni and staff. He has a deep commitment to creating and expanding opportunities for historically underserved populations and has genuine passion for education.

Born in Honolulu and raised in Waimea on Hawai‘i Island, Keawe has four adult kids, is married to a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ ’92 alumna, and is a proud Buff alumnus and parent (Leeds ’25). After finishing his degree at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, he went on to complete his Master of Education degree at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
